Lets go play!

Today is the start of the #PlaygroundShowcase featuring the amazing Amy Sinibaldi's newest fabric line for Art Gallery Fabrics. I love this line for many reasons - the colors are fabulous, all of my girls love their outfits and I like how whimsical the prints are, just perfect for my 4 little girls. In fact, I am pretty sure Amy designed this just for my kids.... just sayin'....

We took a little trip to our park in town and the girls had a blast! They have never been on a teeter totter and thought that was the coolest thing in the world. For the 2 little girls looks, I used the Molly pattern. This is one of my favorite go-to patterns because it is super fast and the outcome is stunning. I did add some pearl embellished lace down the center front of the bodice to give it that extra charm. The sandbox print has become one of my favorites to use - the two color ways go with pretty much everything in the collection. And the fun skirt with the kids playing was the perfect compliment for it - super girly. For the blue dress I used the Emma pattern. I love a high low bodice, gives the dress a little vintage charm. The neckline on the Emma pattern has a V shape neck, for this, I wanted something a little softer, so I raised it up 1" and rounded it off. Normally you wont have to raise a neckline, but because it was a V neck, I didn't want my scoop to go that deep. When changing a neckline, the most important thing is the shoulder part. measure down about 1/2" from the shoulder seam - then from that point, change your neckline. Then the shoulder seams will still match up when you are sewing them together - easy peasy.  here is a quick picture (sorry - the only one I took) of how i turned it into a scoop.

Of course I was going to sew up and Ayda dress. This is seriously the easiest dress to put together. Ayda doesn't have any closures, simply slides over their head. With that, it isn't super fitted but my girls love playing in this dress. They can run around / move in it easily. Also, with that circle skirt, you get the ultimate twirl factor! I have now combined the Ayda pattern with the sleeve add on pattern so if you don't have this yet, you need it now!

(please note, if you already purchased the Ayda pattern at the $8 price, it doesn't include the sleeve add on pattern. You can still purchase that add on in the shop.)

Just a few extra pics that I couldn't resist including in the post.
