Succulence Blog Tour

Posted by

I was so thrilled when Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics picked me for her “Succulence” blog tour. This line is full of gorgeous prints that thrive on the essence of succulent plants. The gorgeous colors range from light greens to deep purples and some amazing geometric prints.

My spunky little 2 year old, Jaimesyn, has been wanting more mommy made clothing, she gets very jealous when her older sisters get new dresses so I decided I needed to make her a cute top. I chose “Arboretum Inspirit” and knew that the Ayda pattern was perfect to showcase this print. I went with the gathered skirt since this print is directional. I also opted for flutter sleeves to add a little flair.I also added a cute little bow using the “Succulent Lattice Aglow” print. My girls live in the Ayda pattern. Not only is it super cute, it is easy for them to get on and off by themselves AND it is seriously a super fast sew (which means I don’t get too mad if they get it dirty).

I loved the “Greenhouse Aglow” print because it is a geometric, and I am a sucker for a cute geo print. I made the new Tilly circle skirt pattern with it using a knit yoga waist band. We are so ready for winter to be over here in North Dakota. I have been working on their spring and summer wardrobes. We like to go for practical here…. So I made the free Cami’s tank top we just released to go with the circle skirt. This is the perfect play outfit and once again, both are VERY fast sews. And just for fun (and because 90% of our photo shoot resulted in goofs...) here is a fun little collage of Jaimesyn - this sums up her personality...
